This past week was an amazing experience God has blessed me with! I was able to gain so much from a culture I had no knowledge of. This mission trip taught me a lot about my relationship with Christ. It taught me and that through Him I can do anything even go to a foreign country and put all my heart into furthering His kingdom.
One moment I can fully remember, was when one morning we had morning ministry and that day we had a prayer walk through the locally city where we would walk around and pray for those who wanted us to. My group and I alongside our awesome translator Val, encounter this older lady who invited us into her small shack which she sold some type of street food out of. It was too small for all of us to fit in so we suggested standing outside. Once we got to talking we covered basic greetings and right after started discussing something that will forever inspire me. She began to tell us how she came to know Jesus and how all she wanted to keep growing in His name. It was so inspiring to hear a woman, who has so little ask for just the most simplest yet so powerful thing anyone can do with Jesus. It was truly inspiring hearing her say that. We began to pray going around one by one praying for her and you can hear her after every little thing we would say she would say, “Merci Jezi.” It warmed my heart to pray for my sister in Christ and once we finished she had tears rolling down her beautiful face. She hugged and shook each and everyone of our hands and thanked us. She continued in her language which Val translated that she thanked us and said we were a blessing Jesus had sent to her. It was so heart touching to hear her say that, she really made all the anxiety and nervousness worth it all just the ability to meet this amazing womn and experience God’s amazing love shower over us.
Also, just being able to come together with the amazing children from the local city and show a helping hand and show them that God sent me to show them love because he loves them dearly. This Mission trip showed me so much about God’s amazing grace and so much about myself. I thank God for this amazing experience and using me as the hands and feet of Jesus. I am also thankful for all my family, friends, and church family for helping me financially, spiritually, and with prayer. “We love because He first loved us.” John 4:19 Thank You ~ Miranda Saucedo
