Who Needs a Telephone When You Have God?
?Pastor Pierre was our Carrefour contact. Pastor Pierre’s church began through him having evangelistic meetings under a tree. He recently completed the construction of a church building. The church is located about 15 blocks from the house where we stayed.
Before the construction of his church, Pastor Pierre would regularly have meals prepared for the area youth. When he asked if we would help with a meal, we helped.
Before beginning to help with dishing up the meal, the team spent an hour or so in the church doing a variety of handwork with children from the area. While helping with dishing up the meals, one of the team members suddenly felt ill necessitating the team to walk back to the house where we staying.
Not long after the team returned to the house, one of the teammates began to break out in large welts. The teammate became more and more anxious as the welts became more pronounced and other welts appeared.
A decision was made that if we could, the teammate would be taken to a clinic. The hope was to be able to somehow contact Pastor Pierre – who has a vehicle, for him to take the teammate to the clinic. We did not have Pastor Pierre’s telephone number. We did not know where Pastor Pierre lived.
After praying and as we began discussing the options for how Pastor Pierre could be contacted, Pastor Pierre suddenly walked into the house. Instead of waiting until morning to find out how the teammate was who had suddenly felt ill while dishing up the meals, Pastor Pierre felt a strong urge that he needed to drive to the house to find out how the teammate was doing.
