This trip to Haiti was truly life changing for me! It opened my eyes to how well we really have it here in the United States. The Haitians are so content with the way they live and with what they have. When we ask them if they have any prayer requests they just ask to be closer to God rather than asking for material things like we do. The are happy with getting other people's clothing as a gift, where as we in America have becom so spoiled and would complain about getting old clothes as a gift. While I was there I met a lady named Chanel who lived just below the house we were staying at and her face would light up anytime she saw any of us Americans. Well one morning I was doing my devotional and I kept hearing the Lord say to give her the extra children's clothes I brought. I tried to tell Him that they were for the orphanage or for Pastor Many, but He kept telling me to give it to that family. The last day came and I put the children's clothes, some of my clothes, a blanket, and other put some stuff in there and we got it ready to bring down to the family. When we gave it to her we said it was a gift from the Lord for her and her family. She was kissing me on the cheek and she was smiling from ear to ear. When we went back upstairs some of the other group was watching from the patio and they said the girls were jumping up and down before they even opened the bag.

God really worked on my heart for missions even more on this trip than He has in the past. Psalm 96:3 says "Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples." This verse kept popping out to me in different ways all week. I am excited to see what happens in the next year with this. I am thankful for the opportunity that God gave me to serve in Haiti and I would go back in a heart beat. To God be the glory!
