Our Lord is in the midst. That’s what ran through my mind, as my mini faith walk team met to pray for his will and direction. Operating solely on faith, our mustard seed prayer grew to unfold piece by piece to each member.
Turn right, look for a young mother, three kids, under a palm tree, stricken with concern for her babies future. Step by step we followed this directive to find Gods young daughter exactly where he said she was waiting.
Ripped from their home following the earthquake, the struggling family of five piled high into a small two-room abode with their cousins family of five.
They exist daily on subsistence living, wasting nothing. The mama, dressed simply, spoke of her deep worry of her kids provision and ability to go to school. The Haitian love of the Lord is evident in every corner of their lives.
From the moment we opened our minds and hearts to pray, I felt her spirit and the urgency of her parental situation deep within my mama heart. God allowed me to truly feel, for that moment, a glimpse of Haitian motherhood.
I feel so privileged to have shared that moment, mother to mother, with my sister in Christ in Haiti.
