Love. That is what I brought back home from Haiti with me. The love the people there showed was so greatly overwhelming.
I'm so grateful that I had the opportunity to spread Gods word in Haiti and they had no problem accepting it. They let us in their homes and their hearts which is so awesome.
We went there to teach them, but they taught me much more. They taught me to be thankful with everything I have and to not complain about anything. I heard no complaints from them. The heat and the living conditions did not take their joy away.
We went to a couple of churches there and when the pastor was speaking to us he said something that really touched me, "You love us but we love you more". I thought to myself "Wow, how can u say that? You barely know us", but that didn't matter to them… whether they knew us or not. They had the love of God inside of them and they saw it pouring out of us and that's all they needed to know.
It brings tears to my eyes now just thinking about how strong Gods love is. I love it. I will never forget the love the children there showed us, how grateful they were just to get their face painted and to be given English bible's. Haiti is a blessed country and I pray every night now that God build up their cities and continue to keep love in their heart and a smile on their face:)
I know what you mean I got the same message and feel the same way. I am so grateful that I had this opportunity as well. I pray that we would catch onto this awesome love that God extends to all of His people. Unconditional Love that’s what it is.
