Hello from Haiti! Our whole group as officially arrived and we are all very much enjoying our time here. The Haitians are surely one of the most welcoming people groups in the world. Everyone we have met thus far has been quick to greet us with open arms and unimpeded kindness. We did a prayer walk this morning and it was truly incredible to witness how open the people were to allowing perfect strangers into their homes to pray over them and hear their stories. One family that we met had small baby with a serious heart condition. He was six months old, but he appeared to be no more than two or three months old – he needs surgery very soon. Please join us in praying that God will provide this family with a miracle, and that the eternal glory would be given to Him.

We also had the opportunity to visit an orphanage near our host family’s home this afternoon. As soon as we knocked on the gate we could hear the pitter-patter of feet running and the echo of children laughing with excitement. When we opened the gate into the orphanage we were instantly swarmed with hugs and young children lifting their hands to be held. There was no indication of shame in their desire to be loved by us today, and it was truly a beautiful picture of the way we should approach our Father each and every day.

We have so much to learn from the beautiful people of Haiti! I think it’s safe to say that our whole team is deeply honored and humbled for the opportunity to serve here this week.
